Congratulations Dr. Emily Royal for successfully passing her dissertation defense in December 2025. More recently, with her dissertation “Long-Term Electric Demand Forecasting Combined with Renewable Energy Optimization for Building Electrification”, she was as a distinguished nominee for the Dr. Bhakta Rath and Sushama Rath Research Award, which recognizes the Mines doctoral graduate whose dissertation demonstrates the greatest potential for societal impact. The Rath Award is the top recognition at Mines for excellence in doctoral research.
